Blood! It's in you to donate! :)

I'm a scardy cat too so don't worry, and I also have never donated blood before. BUT, walk by central square sometime this week and you just might spot me standing in line to donate some blood!

Blood services are visiting York University this week, and I am encouraging ALL to donate (as long as you fit the requirements of course)!

They are going to be here November 22 from 11am-4pm and then November 23 11am-1pm in the BEAR PIT (located in Central Square near Scott Library)

Requirements for donating:
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Weigh at least 110 lbs
- Be in good health (don't try donating blood when your getting through a flu!)
- Must NOT have had a tattoo or piercing done in the last 6 months
- Check out other information and requirements on the Canadian Blood Services website

Red and White Day!

You've seen advertisements on the school screens. Students have been handing out flyers to you. You feel it in the air... it can all only mean one thing... RED and WHITE DAY is THIS WEDNESDAY!

What's so special about the celebration of these two colors on November 14th? Well, red and white day occurs twice a year and it's purpose is to promote some fun along with school spirit around campus while bringing the school together! In honor of red and white day some great activities and deals can be found around campus. I don't want any of you to miss out all the great stuff going on, so here's some information below:

Any group of students can compete for a chance to win a free pizza lunch! You gotta show some spirit in order to win though. This competition involves banner decorating, picture, cheering, and celebrating! For more information on all the aspects of the competition and how to enter click here. Get Some Sports Back in Your Life

I bet there are a bunch of you out there who are absolutely heartbroken because of the lack of hockey in your life.

Now, although I can't say I know how you feel (don't think I have ever watched a full hockey game in my life- please don't hate me) I am here to add a little bit of hockey...

along with wrestling, basketball, volleyball, track & field, cross country, and some SCHOOL SPIRIT to your life!

Did you know that there are varsity games going on almost every week, and are completely free for York students?!
